How to Activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

5 Short Steps to Activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in SabeeApp:

  1. Go to My Profile: Open your SabeeApp account and navigate to the My Profile section.
  2. Start 2FA Setup: Click on the Start 2FA Setup option.
  3. Install an Authenticator App: Download and install an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy) on your smart device.
  4. Link Your Account:
    • Scan the QR code displayed in SabeeApp with your authenticator app, or
    • Enter the provided details manually into the app.
  5. Verify Your Code: Retrieve the 6-digit code generated by the authenticator app and enter it into SabeeApp to complete the setup.

Step 1: Access Your Profile

  1. Log in to your SabeeApp account. 
  2. Click on your avatar icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select "My Profile" from the dropdown menu to open your profile settings.

                     

Step 2: Start the 2FA Setup

  1. Click on the Start 2FA Setup button.

  • A popup window will appear. The following steps will guide you through the setup process.

                                 


Step 3: Install a 2FA Application

To proceed, you’ll need to choose a supported Two-Factor Authentication app on your smartphone or tablet. Choose from the following options:

Instructions:

1. Download and install one of the recommended authenticator apps listed above. These apps should be free to use.

  • If you encounter an authenticator app that requires payment, do not proceed. Instead, search for one of the free options mentioned.
2. Open the app and register a user account if required.

Step 4: Activate 2FA

There are two ways to activate 2FA:

  1. Scan the QR Code in your SabeeApp account
  2. Enter the Code Manually

Example Using Google Authenticator:

We will demonstrate how to complete the setup with the Google Authenticator app in the following steps.


Scanning the QR Code

  1. Open your Two-Factor Authentication app on your smartphone or tablet.

  2. Tap on Add Code (or a similar option in your app).

  3. Select the Scan QR Code option.

     

  4. Use your device’s camera to scan the QR code displayed in the popup window on your SabeeApp screen.

     

  5. Once the scan is successful, a new account will be added to your 2FA app, displaying a 6-digit code.

Congratulations! You’ve completed this step. Proceed to Step 5 to finalise the 2FA setup.


Adding the code manually

  1. Tap on the Add code button

  2. Please select the second option in your authenticator app: Enter a setup key

3. Fill in the details of the form in the following way:

Name: Name it related to your SabeeApp account like SabeeApp PMS

Your key: Copy the code from the popup window from SabeeApp here

Type of key: Please leave it as is.

4. Click Add in the bottom part of the page.

5. After this a new account will appear with a 6 digit code on your smart device.


Congratulations! You’ve completed this step. Proceed to Step 5 to finalise the 2FA setup.

Step 5: Complete the 2FA Setup

  1. Go back to your SabeeApp account with the QR code on your screen and click the Next Step button to proceed.

  2. Open your authenticator app and copy the 6-digit code displayed for your SabeeApp account.

  3. Return to the popup window in SabeeApp and paste the code into the designated field.

  4. Once you’ve entered the code, click Next > to confirm and finalise the setup.


Congratulations! Two-Factor Authentication is now active on your SabeeApp user account. Your account is now more secure!

Important note:

If you use multiple SabeeApp accounts with different email addresses, make sure to set up a separate authenticator for each account.
