How to Deactivate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. However, there might be situations where you need to temporarily deactivate 2FA. This guide will walk you through the steps to remove the 2FA app for yourself or another user.
Removing 2FA for Your Own Account
To check if 2FA is already enabled in your account, navigate to My Profile menu.
Steps to Remove 2FA App
- Navigate to My Profile.
- Look for the Remove 2FA App button.
- Click the button to unlink the 2FA app from your account.
- To set up again 2FA please refer to How to Activate Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
Why Remove 2FA?
- If you’ve lost access to the device used for 2FA.
- If you need to reinstall the 2FA app on your phone.
Things to Keep in Mind
- After removing the 2FA app, if you log out, you’ll need to set up 2FA again on your next login.
- Until 2FA is set up again, your access will be limited to the My Profile menu.
Removing 2FA for Operator, Housekeeper or Visitor User
If a user cannot access their account, account owners can remove the 2FA app for them.
Steps to Remove 2FA for Another User
- Go to the Accounts menu.
- Select the user whose 2FA app needs to be removed.
- Scroll down and click the Remove 2FA App button.
Important Notes
- The same limitations apply: the user will only be able to log in and access the My Profile menu until they set up 2FA again.
By following these steps, you can easily deactivate 2FA temporarily for yourself or another user, ensuring continued access to the system while addressing any issues with the 2FA app.
