How to Report to AVS from SabeeApp
What is AVS?
The Automated Visitor Registration System (AVS) is a digital platform that simplifies guest check-ins, tourist tax reporting, and statistical submissions for accommodation providers. Additionally, AVS enables fully digital billing of guest contributions and facilitates reporting to the State Office of Statistics.
Why is this important?
- AVS helps accommodation providers comply with mandatory guest data reporting regulations in Germany and Switzerland.
- In Germany, providers must collect and register guest information under the Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz, Section 29) upon arrival. Since 2020, digital registration forms have been permitted, provided they are securely signed (e.g., with two-factor authentication or electronic ID verification).
- While some municipalities still accept paper-based reports, AVS allows for automated digital reporting, which many businesses prefer over manual exports. The system can also handle monthly reporting requirementsefficiently.
How to Report to AVS from SabeeApp?
SabeeApp provides an easy way to export a report that can then be uploaded directly into the AVS system. This eliminates the need for manually entering data into the AVS reporting system.
To generate the AVS export:
- Navigate to PMS / List view in SabeeApp.
- Select the time period for the report (up to a maximum of 7 days).
- Click on Export and then choose Export to AVS.
This will download a ZIP file, which you can then upload directly into the AVS system.
Important Note
Please note that this option is not available by default in the PMS, as not all users need this export. If you would like to use the AVS Export, please reach out to your account manager to request that this option be enabled for you.
