RFID based ID scan with Front Office Manager (BETA)
Front Office Manager application is caple of reading out infromation with RFID technology from guest's travel documents including ID cards and Passports. In this article you can learn more about this. Currently this feature is available in our BETA programme. If you would like to join this BETA, please contact our customer service team.
Requirements to use this feature
Only those documents can be scanned this way which contain RFID chip. This is indicated with the following icon:
Only those devices can be used for this scan type which contain NFC module.
The documents have to be placed where the phone's NFC module is (usually top part of the device). It will not work with any part of the phone as the RFID chips in the documents have very weak signal.
How the RFID based ID scan works with Front Office Manager?
The scanning process will start the same way like in case of the OCR ID scan. This is a security step to ensure you are authorised to read the infromation from the document.
1. Please open a reservation and then a guest card in the Front Office Manager applictation.
2. Click on the Biometric ID scan button.
2. Please complete the one sided OCR scan with the help of the phone's camera.
3. After the step 2. is done, then the phone will automatically ask the user to place the device on the document to scan the document's RFID chip. This screen will look different based on the OS system and type of your phone.
4. After the scan is completed, the details are loaded to the guest card and can be saved. After clicking on the Save button the information is forwarded to SabeeApp and the further process is the same as in case of the OCR based scanning.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Depending on the document type, different sides has to be scanned with the camera of the device. In case of Hungarian ID cards it is the back side.
