We have introduced our new Room relation tool to give you the possibility to link your room types together making your work easier when managing your prices in SabeeApp. With the help of this room relation tool you can define a base room type and some rules. After having the room relation rule created, you will only have to define prices for the base room type and the rest will be done by SabeeApp based on your defined rules. Let’s see how it works!
First of all we have some limitations for the Room relation tool. To be able to activate it, please bare in mind that:
- It can only be used if you have your Price model set to Price relation. With the Standard price model the tool cannot be used.
- Currently the tool can be applied only on the Master price, not on the Non-linked rate plans. Of course the rate plans linked to the Master prices will follow the price changes.
- You can choose either to use Dynamic pricing or Room relation tool. The two cannot be active at the same time.
If you have met all the above mentioned requirements you can start using the Room relation. Please open the Prices / Rate plans menu and click on the Master prices. After clicking on the Show tools button on the left you will see that the Room relation tool is already available for you from the list.
You can start creating your rule by clicking on the green Create rule button.
Please note that currently only one rule can be created in a SabeeApp account.
Having the tool open, you will have the following fields:
1. Name your rule
2. Select a default room type
3. Select which room type you would like to link to the default one by ticking the checkbox next to its name. After that, you can define the linkage settings ( plus / minus, fixed price / percentage, value)
The number of the correlated room types is up to you, it is not necessary to have all of the room types linked to the default one.
4. You can apply rounding so the prices will be rounded to the nearest integer based on the basic rules of rounding. Please note that this rounding is applied only for the correlated rooms not on the default room type. You can apply rounding when adding prices with the Bulk price update on the default room type.
5. After you have created your rule, please click Save to save your changes.
When you have created your room relation tool you can start updating your prices manually our using our pricing tools such as Price wizard or Bulk price update.
If you choose to update prices manually, you can tick the checkbox of Apply room relation rule so modifying the base price of the default room type will have its effect on all of the correlated room types. If you choose not to tick the checkbox the rule will not be applied for the correlated room types.
The same applies for the Price wizard and Bulk price update. You will find an extra toggle when using these tools: Use room rule relation. If this is active then after adding the prices to the default room type, all the correlated room types’ prices will be updated as well. If you have it turned off, then you can freely update prices for each and every room type.
It is also important that currently it is not possible to modify an already created room relation rule. You will have to delete it and create it again.
If you would like to remove the already created rule, please make sure to open the Room relation tool and click on the red Delete button on the right.
