      Automatically Adding Services from Booking.com Reservations

      This guide explains how to configure and utilise the SabeeApp system to automatically add services to reservations based on XML data from Booking.com

      Locating Services in the Booking.com Extranet

      In the Booking.com Extranet, services are configured under the Property/VAT/tax/charges menu. This section contains details about additional services like cleaning fees, city taxes, or other charges. Here is an example of how this section appears:

      Configuring Services in SabeeApp

      To automatically add services from Booking.com reservations based on XML data, follow these steps:

      1. Navigate to Settings / Services List / New Service page in SabeeApp.
      2. Enter the exact name of the service as it appears in the Booking,com Extranet to the Service Name Tags (e.g., Cleaning fee).
      3. Ensure the service name in SabeeApp matches the XML tag from Booking.com.

      • Key Details:
        • When a reservation from booking.com comes in to SabeeApp, if the XML contains a matching tag, the service will be added to the reservation.
        • The service’s price will reflect the value from the XML.

        • The inclusion type for services must be consistent between Booking.com and SabeeApp. For example:

          • If a service is included in the accommodation price, but should not appear in the folio, it must be set as included in both SabeeApp and Booking.com.
          • If a service is included in the accommodation price, and should appear in the folio, it must be set as derived in SabeeApp and included in Booking.com.
          • If a service is not part of the accommodation price, it must be set as not included in both systems.

      How Pricing Works

      When a service is added based on the XML data, its price will adjust dynamically. For instance:

      • If one room has a €35 cleaning fee and another room has a €20 cleaning fee on booking.com, these respective amounts will appear in the reservation details.
      • The service will be added irrespective of the rate plan assigned to the reservation.

      Example Configuration

      Here is an example of how to set up a Cleaning fee in SabeeApp:

      1. Create a new service with the following settings:

      2. Based on these settings, the Cleaning fee service will deduct 5,000 HUF from the reservation price once per room for applicable rate plans.

      Reservation Example

      Imagine that you receive a reservation from booking.com for two nights at a total price of 80,000 HUF. The Cleaning fee is set at 7,000 HUF in the booking.com Extranet for the relevant room type.

      Result in SabeeApp:

      1. The Booked Price will be adjusted to 73,000 HUF.
      2. The Services section will display one service:
        • A derived Cleaning fee with a price of 7,000 HUF.
      3. In the Folio:
        • The nightly accommodation prices will be split into 36,500 HUF each.
        • The first day will include a Cleaning fee item of 7,000 HUF.

      Important note:

      • For a service from booking.com to be automatically added to a reservation, the corresponding tag (service name) must be properly configured and matched between the XML data from booking.com and SabeeApp.
      • If the tag is not found (due to a mismatch or misconfiguration), the service will not be added automatically.

      By correctly configuring services in SabeeApp, you can ensure accurate, automated service handling for booking.com reservations, reducing manual effort and minimising errors.
