Introduction

KassenSichV (Kassensicherungsverordnung) is a German regulation designed to prevent tampering with electronic cash register systems. It came into effect on January 1st, 2020, requiring businesses to equip their cash registers with a Technical Security Device (TSE).

The TSE securely logs all transactions, ensuring they cannot be manipulated or deleted. The regulation aims to combat tax fraud by preventing undeclared or altered revenue.

Additionally, businesses must issue receipts containing specific data, and non-compliance can result in hefty fines.
